As a community-based organization devoted to helping women and achieve career success and ultimate self-sufficiency, Life Skills Workshop, Inc. offers the following programs to eligible women:
Job Readiness Workshop Series
A series of Saturday morning sessions, led by community volunteers, gives participants an opportunity to receive information and develop the skills necessary to seek careers rather than just jobs. Detailed information on our Workshop Series.
At the successful completion of the workshop series, each participant receives a copy of her newly developed resume, a professional wardrobe, and is matched with a mentor.
Employment Mentoring
Volunteer mentors provide one-on-one support for six to twelve months after graduation. Mentors serve as role models and are available to encourage, listen and talk with the participants, and provide information on other available community resources. Training is provided for all mentors.
Clothes Closet
Community donors provide a seasonal wardrobe of professional new and like-new women's clothing. A volunteer assists each workshop series graduate in choosing clothes from the closet.
Summer Gathering and Winter Party
Twice yearly, workshop series graduates, their families, mentors and other members of the Life Skills Workshop, Inc. community gather for a fun-filled day of reunion.
