Life Skills Workshop, Inc. provides job readiness training
and mentors for formerly incarcerated women and women in
recovery from substance abuse who are returning to the workforce.
We are currently seeking an experienced Business Development/Office
Management professional to report directly to Executive Director.
Responsibilities include:
- facilitating communication between the Board, the ED and community partners to ensure the effective use of Board and community resources
- to materially assist in Life Skills fundraising activities via events, communications and proposal writing
- oversight of daily operations of administrative duties of office.
Five years of experience in the Business Development field particularly in the nonprofit arena. Bachelor’s Degree in appropriate field a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access required; ability to work accurately without immediate and constant supervision; and ability to use good judgment in recognizing scope of authority, determining action in non-routine situations and maintaining good working relationships with variety of audiences are required.

Volunteer Coordinator
Life Skills Workshop, Inc. (LSWI) is seeking a well qualified professional to head our volunteer recruitment team. This is a volunteer driven organization thus the volunteer coordinator plays a critical role in the sustainability of LSWI.
- The volunteer coordinator will report directly to the Executive Director and is responsible for the recruitment, screening, training and supervision of the volunteers that mentor and otherwise are involved in supporting the programs of Life Skills Workshop.
- Create and update current volunteer program materials;
- Develop community partnerships and solicit in-kind donations to support LSWI’s programs.
- Evaluate program results and submit regular reports;
- Train key staff and volunteer leaders in “best practices” of volunteer management and service-learning to help sustain the program and perform other key volunteer resource development activities.
An ideal candidate must be a people person who is a self-starter, highly organized and detailed oriented as well as possess the ability to multi-task and get assignments done in a timely manner. This position requires that the candidate be computer literate in MS Office Suite, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook. Excellent Internet research skills helpful. Five years of volunteer coordinator experience required. Thirty hours a week. Salary negotiable. Position opened until filled.
